Welcome, I'm so happy you're visiting my blog.

I’m an American, living in London for the last nine years. The recipes I’ll share here, my spelling (British English), and word choice (aubergine and scallions anyone?) will probably give my trans-Atlantic mix away. Let’s just say for breakfast I’m happy eating beans-on-toast or cheese grits.

To my American readers, even though you can’t hear it, rest easy in knowing that I still say bay-sil and toe-may-toe.

I work as a freelance writer and live in a flat with my husband Alex (he's British) and our toddler son. We love to cook, try new recipes and restaurants, and have friends round for dinner parties.

Ideally I attempt at least one new recipe per week, and love to use big flavours – garlic, smoked paprika, chillies, dark chocolate, stinky cheese… mmm. After taking a couple of breadmaking classes I’ve recently ventured into baking. I'm still very much a beginner, but I love that we now eat home baked bread.

While all this experimenting in the kitchen is grand, I love for someone else to helm the stove sometimes, and fortunately my husband knows his way around a wooden spoon and London has an exciting assortment of restaurants (it's not just fish-n-chips and curry anymore!). I have a running list of places with tasty looking menus to try and will share the winners with you.

About Tasting Pages

Magazine pages, book pages, website pages, menu pages….

Whether in print or on a computer screen, every day I see pages that beckon me in with inspiring food writing, recipes and photography. I rip, I print, I bookmark, and eventually… I step into the kitchen, hungry to turn that inspiration into something edible.

Sometimes the end result is tasty; sometimes I find the words should’ve stayed on the page instead of luring me to the chopping board. I will spare you the disasters and instead happily share the recipes I look forward to eating again, enjoying with friends and family, and recommending to anyone who'll listen.

I’ll always provide the measurements in the units used in the original recipe, so you may have to do a bit of converting if you’d like to play along, but it only takes a few seconds.  Click the links found on the homepage sidebar for quick conversion tools.

At the end of the day it doesn’t matter where we live, it’s all about the eating. I hope you are inspired to taste some of these pages with me….
